Do You Ask Yourself, “Why Am I So Tired All the Time?”

It All Starts With Postpartum Fatigue

The restful part of the sleep cycle occurs
during rapid eye movement (REM), about 90 minutes after you fall asleep. But
babies often wake before new moms get the chance to enter REM sleep, leaving
postpartum women riddled with fatigue.

A Note From Our Founder

“Matcha Swan was born out of necessity.
Pregnancy left me struggling with exhaustion, fatigue, and weight gain. I
missed my focus and energy and didn’t feel like myself. My bones and teeth were
weak, my hair and skin were oily, and I was wracked with anxiety.

Many a sleepless night with my new baby
left me frustrated until I knew I had to do something different. I found matcha
and it was life-changing. I finally had the energy and focus I needed.

My memory became better and I even lost
weight faster. I scoured the Earth for the best matcha and knew I had to share
it with other moms. Thus, Matcha Swan was born.”

What is Matcha?

A particular variety of green tea known as matcha has a long history of appeal in China and Japan.Since it is grown in a different way than "regular" green tea, the leaves turn a darker green and yield more amino acids.Matcha powder is created by stone-grinding the leaves after the veins and stems have been eliminated.Matcha is more antioxidant- and caffeine-rich than a typical cup of green tea because it is so concentrated. That said, you don't typically consume much matcha at once due to its strong flavor and caffeine content, and it is typically diluted in milk or in baked goods, as opposed to green tea, which is typically just brewed in hot water.

How to Make Matcha Tea

How to make matcha tea seems to be a bit of
a mystery for beginners, but it’s actually quite simple. To make matcha tea,
first, sift a teaspoon of Matcha Swan tea into your cup to avoid lumps.

Add a small amount of boiling water and
whisk from side to side. Whisking in a circular motion froths the tea into that
lovely foam we all love so much. We recommend using a bamboo whisk known as a
chasen. Once the matcha is thoroughly dissolved, top off your cup with more
water. Leave room for milk if you like, and enjoy.
